Emerging interfaith leaders
CIC engages emerging leaders through peer to peer lead immersive experiences and dialogue. These emerging leaders become a catalyst for the realization of CIC’s vision for Indianapolis to be a community that pursues peace through interfaith understanding and cooperation.
CIC has provided space for young people to develop interfaith relationships for over 11 years. The Emerging Interfaith Leaders Week-Long Immersive Experience will include those entering 10-12th grades who are trained in leadership from their own faith traditions.
Goals for the Emerging Interfaith Leaders Week-Long Immersive Experience
- Emerging Interfaith Leaders (EILs) will reflect upon their own faith traditions. (Oral, Journal Writing, Interfaith Dialogues)
- EILs will meet, connect, and begin to develop relationships with EILs from other faith traditions. (Oral, Journal Writing, Interfaith Dialogues)
- EILs will become exposed to various sacred space tours.
- EILs will engage in service opportunities together.
- EILs will agree to and help create a list of community agreements
-
- Continued gatherings will be offered during the summer (such as museum-related excursions and service-oriented projects).
- EILs will be invited to EIL Advisory Counsel opportunities
- ILs will consider future interactions with the community we are fostering during the EIL Week-Long Immersive Experience.
